MARCH 15, 2010 - Greater Toronto Area REALTORS reported 4,353 MLS sales during the first fifteen days of March. This is a 77 per cent increase over the 2,562 sales recorded during the same period in 2009 when resale transactions had dipped significantly due to the economic downturn. At this we are on pace to reach over 10,000 sales by the end of the month which will break the previous March record set in 2004 of 9,026 sales.December 24, 2009 - The strength of the real estate market in the Greater Toronto Area has been widely attributed to the historically low interest rates that we've seen of late. December 17, 2009 - Realtors in the Greater Toronto Area reported 3,079 re-sale home transactions during the first fifteen days of December compared to 1,487 during the same period in 2008. The strong year-over-year increase is a result of both increased home ownership demand and the fact that we are comparing the recovery phDecember 3, 2009 - Toronto Real Estate Board REALTORS reported 7,446 sales transactions in November - slightly more than double the November 2008 results when Toronto area home sales had experienced a drastic decline due to the economic downturn.
